Rachel Liu

Hi! My name is Rachel Liu, and I’m originally from China.
I believe that great teaching begins with understanding the learner, so my teaching philosophy is simple: “Teach the people, not the lesson.” I always adjust my lessons based on each student’s learning style, goals, and interests, because I want every learner to feel supported, confident, and motivated.

I hold a degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) Education, and I am a certified teacher in Hawaii. Also, I am qualified to teach both ESL (English Second Learners) and Chinese, and I have experience teaching students from ages 5 to 30.

During my university years, I also worked as a Chinese tutor, helping students understand classical Chinese literature such as Dream of the Red Chamber, The Scholars, Journey to the West, and many other masterpieces.
